1) Atlanta Hawks
Best player available selection here for Atlanta who magically jumped to the top pick in the draft
Sarr brings a ton of defensive impact immediately, and his offensive game is developing but still already good
Allows them to now move on from Capela if need be to pair Sarr with Okongwu, despite plenty of steem already saying they can't play together
Still could trade back or a player to gain more assets
2) Washington Wizards
Surprise here at 2, but the Wizards are in dire need of a guard who can control the offense
Topic can do exactly that to get the best out of Poole, Kuzma and the rest of the wings
Washington likes to take these types of risks and picks on players overseas, so we do so here
3) Houston Rockets (via BRK)
Keep clogging up the forwards by getting even more studs in the room with a pure shooter
Candidate for a trade here with this pick so Houston can get a stud
Risacher compliments Thompson off the bench well and can be the reflective of what Whitmore is
Defense will improve even more than it has under Udoka and this could be a match made in heaven for Risacher
4) San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio gets a gift to fall into their lap here at 4 with one of the more skilled offensive guys in the class
A good guard to pair alongside Wemby who will develop as a playmaker with him
Rumors of this pick potentially being traded for a point guard could happen, but I think they stick and pick here
5) Detroit Pistons
I hate the fact Detroit dropped so bad after having the season they did, but luckily, they end up with a stud here at 5
I think there is a world now that they fell in the draft, they could trade this to get better now
I understand they have Duren, but seeing the way they used him originally with Stewart at center, along with the Wiseman/Bagley situation, it will be needed
Clingan is too good to pass on, and can give this bench unit a defensive anchor who will make an impact immediately
6) Charlotte Hornets
Charlotte gets the consolation prize here by surviving the first 5 picks in this draft
Sheppard is an unbelievable shooter with great tools defensively to help Lamelo play off the ball most of the time
Adding shooters around a great playmaker and wing scorer is priority for this Charlotte group
7) Portland Trail Blazers
A plethora of wings to go with here for Portland but I opt to go with Cody Williams
He gives you the most upside as a two-way player with his advancements as a shooter and perimeter defender
Gives you a stable, young wing who can be a project alongside your young two guards and allows you to move on from Jerami Grant this offseason if need be
8) San Antonio Spurs (via TOR)
San Antonio used their first pick on a point guard to help open up the offense more, so why not space it out even more?
Knecht is one of the best pure shooters in the draft and will allow more attention to be taken off of Wemby by him being on the court
This pick could be traded for sure, but if they stick and pick, they should use this on a wing that can help open up the lane
9) Memphis Grizzlies
Disappointing result on lottery day for the Grizzlies, as they hoped to move up and grab a center with their pick
I doubt they will stay and pick at 9 based on all expectations, but if they do, they continue to add to this crazy good pool of young talent
Castle's defense will be an impact immediately and his ability to run the floor in transition and cut backdoor will be a threat playing alongside Ja Morant
His development as a shooter will be one to see but all signs point towards him being a good one
10) Utah Jazz
A young fun prospect to watch for is Buzelis and Utah is looking to take a shot on him here by adding another talented wing
Insurance pick if Markkanen gets traded or walks in free agency, as they profile as similar players
Best case scenario, Buzelis learns behind him and you have two Markkanens with the upside that he has as a stretch-four
11) Chicago Bulls
So many questions for the Bulls heading into this offseason, but one of the key things they must address is: What is the future looking like past DeRozan and LaVine?
They go ahead and find a new replacement at the 3/4 in Holland here, who was the former top prospect in his high school class
Allowing him to play off the ball, working off of White, Dosunmu, and Ball will open up the player he can be
12) Oklahoma City Thunder (via HOU)
Writing this mid-playoffs is hard to do for some of these teams remaining because you don't know how things will end up
It has been apparent that OKC needs another big who will be able to play alongside Holmgren
Filipowski, as projected, can be the guy to do so once he develops into his body and can battle it out with other bigs in the league
His ability to stretch the floor can be viable for this group whether as a starter or off the bench and will be important for this core
13) Sacramento Kings
All signs point towards Malik Monk leaving in free agency in pursuit of a larger contract/starting role
Sacramento shifts their focus on a young college guard who can score, score, and score
Walter can develop to be one of the better players in this class based on the prospect we know he can be, and landing in the right situation here in Sacramento could be just what both parties need
14) Portland Trail Blazers (via GSW)
So nice, you have to do it twice. Portland goes and grabs another wing after using the first pick on one
This could be traded for obvious reasons, but if they stick, Salaun is an interesting pick who could rise up boards closer to time
Two-way player who brings a ton of promise with his developing offensive game, and already skilled defensive presence
15) Miami Heat
Miami needs a true point guard who can be a playmaker and create opportunities for Herro, Butler and Adebayo
Collier might've not had the year he wanted, but he could fall into a perfect situation here in South Beach
Will come in and be an immediate impact as a facilitator for the offense, with the ability to get downhill and score around the rim
16) Philadelphia 76ers
This might be a confusing selection to some, but to me, this seems perfect
Maxey is your guy at guard, but with the success Buddy Hield had for this team does not go unnoticed
If he were to leave in free agency, this is the easy replacement, as McCain is one of the best shooters in this class
A player who can play under pressure of a tough fanbase, plays alongside another ball-dominant guard and showed success, this could be a great pick for Philly on both ends of the court down the road
17) New Orleans Pelicans (via LAL)
Reports coming out that Jonas Valanciunas could be walking in free agency leads me to making this selection for New Orleans
Again, this is a potential trade scenario for the Pels but if they stay here, they should go in this direction
Missi fills the role that Valanciunas exactly played as a pick and roll big man who can finish around the rim
18) Orlando Magic
Orlando loves to always have size. Pair that with a dire need of perimeter shooting and we have our match here at 18
da Silva is a wing that can open up the floor with his perimeter shooting ability that can be paired with Wagner and Banchero in a crazy fast small-ball lineup
His positional flexibility is the most intriguing part about the prospect and having that can be a mismatch for this young team
19) Toronto Raptors (via IND)
Toronto could go in multiple different directions here with their own pick, after their other first was conveyed to San Antonio
Going Carter here would be a good fit, considering Gary Trent Jr's impending free agency
Him alongside Quickley in the backcourt could be a great look offensively as both can score very well. Carter has the potential to be the primary ball handler as well which can take the burden off Quickley
20) Cleveland Cavaliers
I like McCullar more than most I think, but something about a two-way, experienced college player on a playoff team is a match
McCullar can bring a ton on the offensive side off the bench for this group, similar to what they expected from Ochai Agbaji before sending him off in the Mitchell trade
Getting depth behind Garland and Mitchell will be key if they keep this group going forward and McCullar can be that guy
21) New Orleans Pelicans (via MIL)
In no way is this me saying Shannon will be the point guard solution for the Pelicans, but depth is always needed
Shannon can bring a ton of offense for this group, projecting to be a scorer off of the bench
Now, this could be a pick on hold because of his impending trial, but if everything is cleared up, you get an experienced college scorer to mix with this young group ready to make a run
22) Phoenix Suns
Tyler Smith going here to the Suns can create some very fun lineups for this group as soon as next year
Tall and lengthy wing that can space the floor as well as finish well around the rim who can be a Royce O'Neale on offense for this group if he ends up elsewhere next year
This always is a pick that will be a trade candidate, but I feel like picking a young guy here this season will be key with all their picks that are traded over the coming years
23) Milwaukee Bucks (via NO)
Tyson here to Milwaukee is a great pick and will help out the Bucks bench depth along with scoring off the bench
Scorer at all levels, will be a sharpshooter to play off the ball, but can be good with the ball in his hands
Another pick that could be up for trade but if they stay here and pick, this would be the most ideal option
24) New York Knicks (via DAL)
The Knicks have back-to-back picks here and it's almost certain at least one could be traded in this scenario
Staying here, going with Holmes gives the Knicks another skilled bigman, especially with the impending free agency of Hartenstein will be a good fit
Holmes gives a ton of offense at all three levels with the experience in college to back it
25) New York Knicks
Again, this pick can be traded before or on draft night, but we stick and pick in this world
George is an unbelievable shooter that would fit right in with this Knicks group that will always be looking for guys who can open up the floor and be catch and shoot threats
His ability to be a connector in passing is impressive and underrated, which could be a threat with this Knicks chemistry
26) Washington Wizards (via LAC)
Washington could've gone with a big at 2, but opted to go for a bigger need in point guard, so they go with Ware here at 26 to counteract that decision
Ware can be a good pairing with their new guard, as he is a great PnR big man with the ability to finish around the rim very well
This team could use a big rebounder and Ware can do that for sure. His development as an interior defender and perimeter shooter is one to watch for, but he has nothing but time here in Washington
27) Minnesota Timberwolves
Again, we run into the issue of making a selection for a team still in the process of their playoff run, so it's hard to decide what will exactly happen here at 27
Klintman needs to develop more and on a team with plenty of the rotation figured out, he could develop down in the G-League
Bobi brings good shooting ability and a high level of finishing with his athleticism. Will need time to develop as a defender, but the potential is there
28) Denver Nuggets
I'm not as particularly high on Furphy in this draft, primarily because of his limited play and role at Kansas and his unknown status of staying or returning to Kansas
In the time he did shine with other players out, he looked great and has a ton of upside as a knockdown shooter with great rebounding ability for his position
Denver always can use guys to space and open up the floor for Jokic, and Furphy can be one of those pieces going forward to help that aspect
29) Utah Jazz (via OKC)
Carrington is an interesting prospect due to his electric offensive game, but there is a ton to still need to develop
Utah won't put too much pressure on him to be amazing immediately, where he can develop behind some good guards on the roster with similar playstyles (Jordan Clarkson)
His playmaking ability already, though, makes him a candidate to crack the rotation for this team, which is why I mock him here
30) Boston Celtics
Edey finally goes off the board here at 30, and he could probably go higher based on other scouts read on where he could go
Boston can always use depth at big man, as we saw them do so, making a move for Xavier Tillman at the deadline
With his and Kornet's free agency status, they go Edey here and allow him to develop and play alongside outstanding players which could enhance his game even more
