Elite athleticism and natural scoring ability. Can get to the rim at ease, and finishes physically, which lead to him getting to the free throw line a lot. Works with back to basket every time he finds a mismatch, looks comfortable doing so. Decent enough defender, uses size and athleticism to his advantage. Showed ability to pass out of double teams very well, helped his overall playmaking. Will need to become more consistent from three if there is anything to work on. Played the 4 in college, but will be more of a 3 in the NBA with the ability to play a small ball 4 scenario.

A ton of people's consensus number one guy in this class, but his injury-riddled season along with questions about his work ethic and love for basketball could cause him to dip a little bit. Through all of that, you are getting the best naturally gifted scorer in this class. Great shooter with good form and upwards motion, works great on catch and shoot as well as off the dribble. Really underrated defender, slides his feet well and has good hands. Not a willing passer, will make the play if needed but will be his biggest area of improvement. I don't think the work ethic thing will be a factor at the next level (see Anthony Edwards pre-draft issue) with the NBA being his ultimate goal.
6'9, 250 lbs. 19 y/o.

National Player of the Year this year was even better than expected for Duke. Top tier player with the ball in his hands. Great interior scorer, just as good as a catch and shoot guy from the perimeter. Good handle for his size with instincts as a passer that is above averge for his position value. Defensively he can hold his own, he isn't the jump off the charts guy, but he isn't a liability. Aggressive on the glass and willing to fly in to grab a board or tip it out. Questions about if his offensive playstyle will translate the NBA with size difference is fair, and he will need to play alongside a good defensive big to maximize his potential. Nonetheless, he is still a game changing player that I see no problems with adjusting to the NBA level.
6'10, 215 lbs. 20 y/o.

One of my personal favorite prospects in this class, a kid who has the size and length to play at the next level as a two-way guy. His athleticism is off the charts, and ability to finish above and around the rim is up with the top of the class. Above average rebounder due to his long wingspan and positioning. Defensively sound, really solid shot blocker, doesn't foul much from this one season. at North Carolina. His perimeter shooting is about as nonexistent as it could be with only 7 makes on 27 attempts in his shortened season. Fractured his hand in the second-half of the season, then broke his thumb when he was a game away from returning. His playstyle and athleticism will allow him to be a top tier frontcourt prospect in the NBA.
6'4, 190 lbs. 19 y/o.

Projecting him to be the best overall guard prospect in the class as he is a well-rounded player. Awesome defender, who is pesky and gets into the mix of it, with good hands and athleticism to help out of position defenders. High-level playmaker and ball handler who limits turnovers. Scoring wise, he loves and looks the most comfortable scoring off the dribble. Explosive when attacking at the rim, loves the quick dribble pull up from the mid-range. His only knock is the lack of three point presence. When he shoots them, the form and ability to make is there. For some reason, he doesn't take many attempts. No real flaws outside of potentially his size, but that will come as age goes too. Easily most complete guard in class despite late season hype on other guards.
6'3, 190 lbs. 19 y/o.
(Previously: 6)
Potentially the most polarizing prospect in this class comes potentially from Coach Cal's best ever freshman in Acuff. There is nothing lacking in his offensive ability, can score at all three levels. Has the natural clutch gene and ability to execute late in games. His strong finishing at the rim leads to a ton of trips to the line. Steady ball handler, passing is decent, gets his counting stats on passes out of double teams or dribble, drive kick-outs. Defense is very nonexistent from college tape. Athleticism and quickness says he should be at least avergae, but it seems to be an awareness issue and energy salvage problem. Overall offensive juggernaut who will go high and wouldn't shock me if he averages close to 20 as a rookie on the right team.
6'6, 185 lbs. 19 y/o.

One of the few biggest risers since the start of the season. Was overlooked coming out of high school but exploded his freshman year at Illinois leading them to a Final Four. Bigger guard instantly makes him an intriguing prospect.Prided on his offensive game, Wagler loves to go to his jab-cross pull up from the perimeter. Solid handle, and uses his body to shield and overmatch defenders. Great shooter with good form. Solid passer, very smart on that end and seems to make the right play. Defensively he is just fine. Nothing to get too excited about, but has shown spirts where he can hold his own. Not the most athletic or fastest guard, which causes some concern at the next level, but his timing and game IQ will make up for the lack of "ooo's" and "ahh's."
6'10, 235 lbs. 23 y/o.
(Previously: 14)
First of the National Championship team to land in the first round. As the oldest player in the class, Lendeborg can do it all for whoever takes him. Physical, explosive player who will finish at the rim with ease. Great shooter for his position and size. Defensively will be a game changer for a team. Can guard his position but also can handle some guards due to his footwork and long wingspan to make up getting beat. Biggest attribute he has is his motor, this is a guy who is 100% go at all times and makes winning plays on both sides of the ball. His biggest weakness is his often struggles on the glass where he is not in position at times. Numbers don't take into account the size on the court with him on his team. This is a winning player that a team with a lottery pick that's looking to win now will jump all over.
6'4, 205 lbs. 21 y/o.
(Previously: 17)
Another quick riser from this class, Burries has shown off his two-way ability which makes him an intriguing pick for teams in the mid-lottery. Great shooter from the perimeter who also isn't afraid to throw it down over a defender. Quick off the dribble and weaves through traffic well. Decent secondary playmaker with the right lead guard. Defensively is above average, with good hands, plays the lanes well and just overall very attack oriented. Only knock with Burries is the caught in between being a 1 and 2 at the next level. Not a good enough lead guard but can turn into one (see Stephon Castle development).
6'5, 190 lbs. 20 y/o.
(Previously: 7)
One of the few "lottery ticket" players in this first round, as Brown has dealt with a ton of injuries and underwhelming play throughout this season. Brown was one of the best shooters coming into this class' season with his outstanding play at the FIBA U19. Explosive and sneaky good athlete that will catch you off guard at times. Really solid passer and playmaker overall, but has some turnover issues from forcing. Defensively, there isn't much to be excited about, although his athleticism and size should help him not be below average. Once he figures out the consistency issues he has, he will be a very solid contributor to a team.
6'8, 235 lbs. 19 y/o.

Peat looks like he could either play the 4 for your favorite NBA team, or line up on the line for a 3rd down stop on Sundays. His body is advanced for his age, which makes him very interesting to project. Super athletic and finishes strong around the rim and is a top tier lob threat. Moves feet well defensively for his size, and uses his athleticism to be a good rim protector. Really decent passer, good awareness and vision on the court. Biggest issue for him is he is a non-threat from three, like 17 attempts all year. If he can develop any outside shot at all, he will outplay his projection. With him being 19, he is worth taking a shot on for his size and athleticism. Even if he doesn't end up developing a shot, turning himself into a Draymond Green-like player would be perfect.
6'4, 175 lbs. 20 y/o.
(Previously: 9)
I think Labaron might jump back up for me in my rankings after a while watching more of his tape to see the player I was extremely high on at the beginning of the season. Really talented offensive player, can get a bucket at all three levels with being a very efficient perimeter shooter. Improved passer from last year with being the primary ball handler and showed promising flashes. Good handle, especially through traffic. Defensively he is an average to below average grade. Size doesn't go on his side and he tends to lose track of his man in situations. Not the most athletic player either, so teams who are looking for that might pass up on Philon. Overall he's a safe pick as an offensive prospect who has shown he can score at the highest level collegiately.

Not many national eyes on Steinbach with his performance on a not very good Washington team, but was secretly one of the better players in the country. Hannes is one of the best rebounders in this class averaging almost 12 a game due to his size and wingspan. Very well at positioning down low on both offensive and defensive rebounding. Offensively he can finish above the rim at a high level, while also showing the ability to stretch the floor a bit. He tends to find himself in foul trouble defensively, as he is kind of slower to recover. He has shown the ability to stay in front of guards at times, but he struggled against other good bigs in Big 10 play. Has a ton of potential for a team that is looking to have a long-term center option to develop.

Along with Mikel Brown, add Quaintance to the "lottery ticket" players in this class. Quaintance reclassified last year and started early at Arizona State before transferring to Kentucky this year. He only appeared in 4 games this season for the Wildcats due to an ACL tear prior to this season at ASU that he had complications with. When on the floor, he is an elite shot blocker with a ton of size and can attack the glass on both sides of the floor. Aggressive at the rim when finishing, not afraid to use his body and size to his advantage. Very solid at taking defenders off the dribble to get to the basket. No real presence as a perimeter shooter, but showed some willingness to do so his freshman year at Arizona State. If this board had no injury problems, Quaintance would be up there amongst the top in this class, but his long-term complications with his knee could be worrying to some.Â

Swain has jumped up mightily since the beginning of this college basketball seaosn, and it's due to his breakout play early on in his first year at Texas. Gets to the rim with the best of those in his class, with an elite slashing ability. His first move off the dribble is explosive, and is just the same as a cutter or running in transition. Has shown the ability to shoot but doesn't do so at a high volume, shot is kind of slow. Smart player with the ball in his hands, finds mismatches with teammates, not going to force shots just to do so. Defensively he crashes the glass well for his position and size. Not much to be too excited about as a defender on ball, but is very solid as a weak side and help defender, where he gets a ton of recovery blocks. Will be a good high-energy spark plug early on in his career.
6'10. 207 lbs. 19 y/o.
(Previously: 13)
Was one of the top players in his recruitment class, Ament had a solid freshman year with the Vols. He has good size and length for his position and playstyle, which makes him valuable alone. High arcing shot that he loves to use in the mid-range, especially on dribble pull ups off screens. Wasn't the most efficient 3pt shooter, but with his form and length, he could end up being extremely valuable, as he moves very well off the ball. Defensively he is not really anything to get excited about. Slower feet, gets blown by easily but also not a big enough frame to handle 4's and 5's. The upside with Ament is there and a team with multiple firsts should take a flyer on a guy who played better late in the season before his injury.

The second of three Michigan guys projected in this first round and it comes with one of the tallest guys in this class. Mara had a great end to the season, including during their title run, that shot him up boards late. You can't teach size, and he has that, uses it to his advantage inside as a scorer going to his post hook. Obviously he finishes above the rim as a lob threat really well. Defensively he is great. Top tier shot blocker obviously but also moves his feet surprisingly well for his size. His biggest secret weapon is his passing, and he is elite for his position at that. He unfortunately isn't the heaviest big man to play, so he runs into that issue guarding other bigs. Rebounding only comes with his size so there's advantages and disadvantages. Non-shooter, although has attempted some.

Cenac is a very intriguing prospect to watch out for due to his size and athleticism. He is a guy who can go finish above the rim very well, and attacks the rim off the dribble with a ton of explosiveness. He is very solid on the glass, and tends to outmatch other rebounders due to his athleticism and flying in from the outside to make an effort on the play. With his quickness, he uses it defensively to be switchable on the perimeter. He has shown the willingness to shoot but will need to improve on that end. Cenac tends to have games and moments where he can go invisible on the court offensively. Also gets in foul trouble at times due to overaggressive shot block attempts. Good energy big that could turn into something more.
6'4, 190 lbs. 22 y/o.
(Previously: 19)
Very good shot creator, loves to work around the PnR to help get open or draw defenders to bite too hard on a play where he makes the right pass. Quick instincts with the ball in his hands. Good shot form with a quick release, able to make it from anywhere on the court. Not too bad of a passer, can create for others based on his shot attempts or looks he gets. Gets the easy picks and lane jumps defensively but outside of that he is a below average defender, which is primarily due to the lack of size and athleticism. His NBA role will be different than his college role I'd imagine, but he can be a good shooter to have off the bench who can handle the ball well.

Not sure if I would classify Allen as one of the "lottery tickets" like Brown and Quaintance, but he is definitely someone who I could see jumping up high into right outside the lottery with his upside. He has good two-way upside, in which his play and comfort level rose as the season went along. Gets downhill well and is not afraid to absorb contact at the rim. Not bad from three with a high arcing shot but a little slower in the upwards motion. Defensively he is very solid and has a good frame to help him. Counting stats will show a ton of blocks and steals, but he hasn't even reached his lowest potential there. His ball handling is a little loose, which is understandable for his age and position. This is one of those you won't regret it picks in a few years when he comes into his own.
6'5, 175 lbs. 21 y/o.
(Previously: 21)
A true highlight reel type of player with his elite athleticism and bounce, Carr is one I am looking forward to seeing how he tests at the combine this next month. He is incredible going downhill and attacking the basket at ease and wanting to finish through contact. Really solid shooter with a good overall form, looks pretty from the corner. Defensively he has the motor and athleticism combined with size to be an above average defender in the NBA. Right now he tends to force a little too much and not look for the right play/pass comapred to trying to do it himself. He will need to get better off the ball defensively making sure he doens't give up cuts. Nonetheless, this is a guy a fringe playoff team would love to get for explosive plays.

Anderson is one foot in, one foot out when it comes to the draft, but I will keep him in here for now. If he gets a lottery promise, he will stay but if he doesn't test well, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go back to school. Top tier shooter from 3pt range, and can score with the best of them in this draft. He is a guy that once he is hot, he is scorching hot. Very good passer too, especially in the PnR. There is 100% effort there at all times. The biggest thing team scouts will talk to him about is his defense and overall ball handling at the next level. His size doesn't help him defensively, but he tries to get in the mix. If he went back to school, he could be a top 10 pick next year, but it also could be a pick this year where teams think, "why did we let him slide?"

The third of our National Champion trio is also considering returning to school, but testing the waters to see. Morez was the overlooked member of that Michigan frontcourt, but made his presence felt during their March Madness run. Great interior scorer and will body up defenders to get into the lane. Not much of a shooter, but has shown the attempt to do so. Great in the PnR game as a roller. Defensively he is tough and isn't afraid to take on contact, and makes winning plays to cause turnovers. Aggressive on the glass as well, numbers won't show you due to the frontcourt he played with. His shooting won't make him as intriguing as other bigs higher up, as well as his size not having a true position yet. A winning player who will be an impact on whatever team he ends up with.

Yessoufou was planning on returning to school and entering the portal, but decided to stick in the draft at the deadline. Was one of the top recruits this past year and has a ton of potential going forward. Yessoufuou loves to get to the basket and use his body to create unique finishes which makes him special. He has a good shot form, maybe a few tweaks to his arm placement and follow through, but the results don't show his solid technique. His athleticism should make him a solid defender, if not better than average. Has the knack to attack the glass, which is great for his position. He tends to force a little too much as a shooter and doesn't have a true role yet. However, if you watch how he plays, he looks very confident which makes it believable that the sky is the limit. It will take time, but trust the process and he will be a stud.

I really like Evans, and think he is one of the best shooters in this draft class. He is shifty and crafty as a scorer, who can get around defenders as a ball handler. Smart player off of the ball and knows what his spots are to find an opening as well as space the floor. Solid defender, definitely not bad for his size where some would assume he is a liability, but he can hold his own. There's no lack of offense for Evans, but his next level translation is in question due to the unknown of what his role could be. He will need to get bigger in order to keep up with NBA size and speed. Staying consistent will be Evans key to success at the next level as well. A guy who could jump up higher after the combine and workouts undoubtedly.

Karim Lopez played his last season in the NBL, and I am currently in the process of finding my new way of watching NBL game tape, as my old way is no longer available. So until then, I can only base it on highlights that I have seen. From this it looks like Lopez has a good frame and size for the next level. Good shot and the ability to get to the basket, while also operating with his back to the basket. Scouts expect him to be a valuable 2-way option for whoever drafts him. International guys are always a question mark due to competition, but he has had to guard NBA competition like Torrey Craig, Bryce Cotton, and Troy Brown Jr.

Every year there is a mid-major player that sneaks their way in the back end of the first and then every team falls in love with him. This year that is Allen Graves of Santa Clara, who is currently in the portal and deciding whether to transfer or go to the NBA. Graves is a do it all type of player, that is a bigger wing that is a hybrid 3-4. Uses body to get inside and score with his back to the basket primarily, and is a solid shooter from the perimeter. Defensively, he is as good as anyone else in this draft. He is a rare hybrid of being able to get steals and blocks as well. Doesn't have trouble with many bigs, and is able to stay in front of ball handlers. His only knock is he isn't he fastest guy, especially when it comes to his quickness with the ball in his hands. His role will be different in the NBA that will only enhance his good skills. Win-now player.

(Previously: 25)
Jefferson is the only four year guy to pop up in the first round of this draft on my board, and it is due to his overall impact and production. Likes to play back to the basket on offense but also has the ability to take defenders off the dribble. He has shown the ability to shoot, which is valuable from a 4 in this class. He is a really solid defender at his position due to the ability to switch onto wings and guard bigs with his size. Really good connecting passer and screener as well. He isn't the most athletic forward in the draft, nor is age on his side compared to other guys. Can be a little inconsistent at times as well. Definitely see a role for him off the bench on a winning team.

A good combine for Maleek Thomas and he might just jump up draft boards mightily for a team who wants to take a shot on potential. Another one of the best shooters in this class, he's got the quick release that will translate to the next level. He creates for himself in isolation and off of ball screens. Really solid as a secondary playmaker, limits turnovers and loves to find a cutting big for a lob. Defensively he will come into his own I believe. He has the positional size to be a solid defender, he will just have to come into his body more. Can be a bit of a chucker and shot selection is questionable at times. Not really explosive or much of a finisher around or above the rim. Good long-term pick potential here.

(Previously: 32)
Tanner is 50/50 on staying in the draft or going back to Vanderbilt for another year. If he stays you are going to get a true point guard out of him. Smart shot selections, not a bad shooter overall. For someone his size, he surprisingly is very quick and explosive at the rim. Will catch someone by surprise who has never seen him play before. Looks very in-control with the ball, limits turnovers and finds teammates well. Defemsively he is aggressive and pesky. Has a knack for the ball and steals, but also not afraid to get in the mix with everyone. His only true downside is the simple fact he is the size that he is, but he cannot control that much. If he was 3-4 inches taller, we would be looking at a clear lottery guy, but unfortunately, the modern NBA isn't favorable for small guards.
